PL-000027 · Circa later 1960s–1970s · Maker: StiffelA sculptural Stiffel torchiere, its tall architectural form punctuated by a beautifully modeled barley-twist column and layers of turned brass. An opaline ribbed glass diffuser crowns the piece, held by Stiffel’s patented shade-retaining system (stamped PAT. NO. 3,231,734, issued 1966 to Theophile A. Stiffel). The aged brass has developed a rich, variegated patina of bronze, tobacco and muted gold.
