By visiting this website, creating an account or purchasing from Patina & Light, you agree to the following terms.

One-of-a-kind objects

Most Patina & Light pieces are one of a kind.

Once a piece has been collected, it may remain visible in The Archive as part of the documented history of the collection, but it is no longer available for purchase.

Inventory systems occasionally make mistakes. In the unlikely event that the same one-of-a-kind piece is purchased by more than one customer, or an unavailable piece is sold due to a technical error, Patina & Light reserves the right to cancel and fully refund the affected order.

Descriptions and photography

We make every reasonable effort to describe and photograph each object accurately.

Because many pieces are vintage or antique, minor variations in surface, finish, color, wear and construction are expected.

Colors may also appear slightly different depending on lighting, photography and your screen settings.

Dimensions are provided as accurately as practical but should be considered approximate unless specifically stated otherwise.

Condition

Vintage and antique objects are not represented as new.

Patina, evidence of use, small irregularities, previous repairs and other signs of age may be present.

Where we believe a condition issue is significant, we will disclose it in the listing and/or photographs.

Vintage lighting and electrical objects

Unless specifically stated otherwise, vintage electrical items should be inspected by a qualified electrician before installation or regular use.

Any statement that a lamp or electrical object has been tested means only that it operated when tested by Patina & Light. It is not a certification that the wiring meets current building or electrical codes.

The purchaser is responsible for determining whether installation, rewiring or modification is appropriate for their location and intended use.

Pricing

Prices may change without notice.

If a piece is listed at an incorrect price because of a typographical, technical or administrative error, Patina & Light reserves the right to cancel the transaction and issue a full refund.

Payment

Orders are not considered complete until payment has been successfully processed.

For freight or custom-delivery pieces, additional shipping or delivery charges may be due after purchase and before shipment.

Shipping

All purchases are subject to the Patina & Light Shipping Policy.

Risk of loss transfers according to the terms of the carrier and applicable law.

Returns

All purchases are subject to the Patina & Light Return Policy.

Intellectual property

All photographs, written descriptions, editorial features, Keeper’s Journal entries, branding, logos and original website content are the property of Patina & Light unless otherwise credited.

They may not be reproduced, copied, distributed or used commercially without written permission.

Availability of the website

We may update, change or remove products, features or website content at any time.

We do not guarantee uninterrupted access to the website or that every piece shown will remain available.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Patina & Light is not responsible for indirect, incidental or consequential losses arising from the purchase, use, installation or handling of an item beyond the remedies required by applicable consumer law.

Nothing in these terms is intended to limit rights that cannot legally be waived.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

Changes to these terms

Patina & Light may update these Terms from time to time.

The version posted on the website at the time of purchase will apply to that transaction.
