The House
About
The house behind Patina & Light
Patina & Light began with a habit of noticing.
Noticing the lamp everyone else walked past. The painting tucked behind another painting. The piece of pottery that felt better in the hand than it looked on the shelf. The object with no obvious purpose but too much personality to leave behind.
For years, I have collected this way, instinctively, curiously and without much interest in whether things were supposed to belong together.
I am drawn to contrast: old beside modern, polished beside weathered, important design beside something wonderfully peculiar. A room becomes more interesting to me when it carries evidence of different lives, different periods and different hands.
Patina & Light grew from that way of seeing.
It is a changing collection of vintage, antique, artist-made and unusual objects chosen for beauty, character, craftsmanship, usefulness, humor, and sometimes simply because they refused to be ignored.
Every piece receives a permanent Patina & Light collection number. Some find new homes quickly. Others remain with us for a while. Once collected, they move into The Archive rather than disappearing, because we believe the history of the collection is worth keeping too.
This is not a house built around perfection.
It is a house built around curiosity, stewardship and the belief that beautiful living becomes richer when we stop asking whether everything matches and start asking whether it means something.
Patina & Light is an invitation to look again.
To keep what matters.
To choose slowly.
And to let a home become unmistakably your own.
Welcome home.
